Cagiva collector since 1997. My 1st Cagiva item I got when I was 8, it was a Cagiva school backpack that I had for 1st and 2nd grade elementary school.
Or in other words, I kinda do not collect but I have such a 2T Passion that makes me to Salvage 2T bikes that I find as neglected, or in parts , if they are Collectables by model brand or being just a Art form in my mind. Ive then rescued also others than Cagiva…
Seeing something Art or collectable in a ditch at backforest at Bike Breaker softens my hearth. So, I have slipped over the years also into collecting other Brand 2T’s.
This BATS forum I was introduced some years ago by fellow Cagiva owners from USA.
Past 17 years ive been on web among various global 2t forum’s but during past ~5 years level has dropped radically and skilled people have moved on. Ive been trying to find a new place to enjoy, BATS appealed me because of moped Derbi GPR scene and that I have those fellow GPR Cagiva owners here already.
And especially as folks in States usually know how to appreciate rare 2t’s in there, that are not common or usual thing to even exist to be owned.
Ive made bikes from nuts and bolts, as many of my bikes have been just a bare naked main chassy at the beginning. Puzzles, not basket cases where most parts still exist in Box.
Latest rescues from 2013 have been remains of broken down salvage yard Derbi GPR 50cc ’00 (like Cagiva Mito/Prima 50/75cc but with derbi’s own 50cc engine).
Exactly same circumstances as above for Sachs XTC 125cc Frame from 4T version, to be Converted into 2T version with Yamaha’s 3BN engine such as DTR125 etc…
For XTC I fall in love as the Frame is so much Ducati style. Lightweight and very well made. 2nd thing is that it uses Cagiva’s rims. And that I had Prior salvaged 2T Yamaha engine’s 1 Van load. And that, its original ugly fairings-fuel tank that I don’t have, I can now replace with something else.
I did also rescue Derbi Senda ’00 2T moped frame from bike breaker’s metal dumbster. More puzzle’s that I do like. Even that buying even non complete rolling bike would be cheaper..at the end.
And same case for 2T Suzuki RG125Fun complete chassy
During 2012 i bought complete 3pa 125 TZR ‘91, or almost 3 so to speak how to count, 1 full Van from floor to Mid roof Stacked, so to speak.
i have summink 13+ bike's, inc diy 2t motorized bicycle's. Minarelli engined Fi made Moped’s. and somewhat 30+ various 2T small engine's etc,
4T tuned Chinese 200cc quad. Carting 2T race engine etc. about 100m2 of parts etc
Those 2T motorized bicycles, I started to make and learn about 4 years ago.
im very much of a diy man. I have to be as I live in small village at BackForest (too) near Arctic Circle. Population only under 3300 in my village, this is worse than Siperia for population and networking.. I cant find other bikers no other mechanics with simular interests.
Back in '97 when i bought my 1st 125cc 2T, i had some offers between Cagiva C12R , 3pa TZR and Gilera Sp01. as Mito's were not basically available at used bike markets here in Fi, i went with C12R '89 as Cagiva's were and are my Love, since age 8 un-offically.
From Cagiva's i have factory Sp models, the best and most rare ones out of the range. i R&D for them as i tune them, Restaure etc.
For example I have Evo1 Sp ’95, same model what Valentino Rossi rode. This bike is my Eleanor that I build 7 years and im scared of it. Among those Cagiva’s are even more rare models, some that I have spend building 15 years almost.
Something more casual about my profile :
- i have 3year degree from machinist/cnc machinist school, actually it was OldSchool NC-machining, Prior CNC. Those years included 1 for welding and sheet metal work. After that ive worked on the Metal fabrication industry as a tig welder etc. Sheet metal worker.
-Also I am a registered practical nurse and 1st Aid response from red cross. Been in a Fi army service as every Finn. been working in a School enviroment as a teacher etc.
-ive worked as a Mechanic in a Aprilia++ Polaris dealer, and as a parts retailer. Working past years also and currently as a mc parts private retailer with my global connections and collector friends in a joined collab.
-Sometimes i also work in a Bike Breaker, where from i got my 3Pa TZR’s and lotsa various model Yamaha 125cc 2T parts. This Breaker deals with Am6/Rabasa/gsm engined mopeds, is a Italian Beta dealer and also retails Chinese mopeds.
- i dont hobby much else than bike's and motor's. little fishing and outdoors hiking biking daily. i do not own a Car, never have yet, I wish I could afford car, a van to take Bike into it and go ride new parts of home Country.
-as a another self educated hobby i fix electronics, consumer electronics, phones-pc's etc. i also re-Devlop modify some Vehicle electronics being Servo control units etc, ignition stuff.
From electronics i do kinda collect *****'s Communicator cell phone models, slowly. Also I collect 80s game consoles like Commodore’s etc These game consoles when im lucky to come across, I always salvage what I find free. Atari’s Amiga’s Commodore’s etc.
-i write a shop Blog in Finland, for the moped/bike parts that i Retail with my joint global collabs. + misc issues for the Blog, related into bike specs etc investigations happenings.
-During past ~10years ive worked in MC scene for my Italian, German, and other UK collabs. This is my dream and I hope it to make living out of it. To evolve and progress it into better and better.
Hopes and Dreams:
For Future I hope to succeed to help my UK collab, and to make better living for us, to make our Progressing Retailing to Evolve.
I also so much hope to find more 2T Enthusiast to live with, as in Fi Scene is permanent ground hawg day. In Fi 125cc are considered to be only 16yo teenager bikes, and im rare species here.
If retailing shop progresses into better, I could finally Travel and meet new people and enjoy motorcycle life properly. Buy the 1st car and be Free, as folks, remember, Fi has long winter and im Stuck those months, makes me being Of the bike for 7~9 months annually. While during very short summer I joyride bikes and borrow mom’s car for Bike Breaker trips.
Ohh and my 3rd dream is to get new door into mom’s carage so that I could 1 day use the carage during long 7+ months winter, so that carage would hold temp in and not be -5Celsius to -15celsius indoors.
In Carage I have my Metal Machinery equipment that for ive been slowly saving and investing into during past 7 years. I have there Lathe, Mill, Esab Tig mma and Italian Mc tire changer machine. But for now they sit there waiting for warmer future, as short summer is always so busy.
I most humble dream that before im 40 I could start using them Machinery and be at warm and have better working space. And to find and have those tru 2T friends to be with and enjoy.
I wish I could have my life among bikes, making me a living, to be offered collaborations and jobs.
For 2014 my UK collab will be getting a proper WebShop, whom ive been helping with ie recently sourcing the web it-engineer a fellow biker collab.
Doors are open, we look for Global Collabs no matter what size or level, from hobbyist into pro.
