Flock Yeah 3 2012 in LA September 7-9th

The Latebirds LA Moped Army gang is hosting their bi-annual SoCal rally Flock Yeah 3, in Los Angeles this September 7th through the 9th. This is the biggest SoCal rally promoted, and the expectations are that it will be huge. Many folk from the Bay Area, as well and the far northern reaches migrate for this super event. Make sure to register on their site, and sign up for the rally pack (which probably includes a super cool t-shirt).

So i think that most end up at Choke which is on Normal and Virgil. I happen to live on Hyperion and sunset which is two stroke smelling distance away. I can host a few people if there is interest in coming down to LA for the weekend. I would probably ride my Derbi Senda CR85

Next Weekend!

This is coming up soon. They've recently posted a bunch of information on their site about it. If you are thinking about going register and order your rally pack ($20).

Photo Report

This was an epic Moped weekend in LA. Big thanks to Ari and his sweetheart for hosting Paz and I during our LA adventure--the awesome sunset photo is from Ari's place.

Lots of Thank You So Much! to Jeff and the gang at Choke for helping me fabricate a pipe for the Monza. Paz and I were planning to do a much needed engine rebuild on the Monza before the rally so the engine was out. We didn't have time so I packed up all the bits with the plan to assemble the Monza in LA. We were in Ari's garage getting our bikes ready when I realized I hadn't brought along the pipe. Jeff at Choke set me up with a cast off Tomos pipe and his tourch. Ari helped with the foundry effort and before too long with some heating, bending, and hammering we had a functional pipe and the Monza was out on the road ripping it up with the sport bikes on Mulholland.

One of the best parts of the rally was the break away group that headed out after the beach. I think Barry may have gotten some video late in the ride, but it is quite possible he was just having too much fun.

Sunday had a bit of hot riding action as well. I finally got to ride with Christoph of Tomahawk--hopefully he'll have a chance to come up to SF from some back hills riding.

The Monza at Choke at the end of the ride on Sunday.

There are two things men love in this world.
1. Hot chicks on bikes.

2. Sexy bikes

Nice pics. Quite an eclectic gathering of people and bikes. Some cool & ferocious lookin' (who knew?) mopeds. The old zoo makes me think of the "epilogue" photos at the end of the movie "Papillon".

Thanks for the complements--these are just cell phone shots gathered at the event.

Moped rallies and rides are an insane amount of fun. I totally recommend them for two wheel fun--and most of the folks that show up to these things have degrees in two stroke tuning--partially because to keep a moped on the road you need to know your shit. :P

There's a rally here in the bay area next weekend and it is driving me crazy that I have a cast covering my right wrist! Damn it!
