Default well I think I know

Ok guys I found this out on the web and went and checked the resistances and the only wires that are were in spec are red and yellow. so looks like I am in the market for a new stator unless its just corrosion from sitting for two years
Quote: "Its a Derbi senda with no spark... its gonna be stator or cdi, both are more common than burberry hats on chavs

Theres 2 different ignition systems used as they dont mix so make sure you get the right one...

Leonelli 5 wire system (Rotor and CDI will be clearly marked Leonelli)

Ducati 3 wire system (again will be marked Ducati -although new ones might be marked LB since they started being made in china)

Stator Checks are...

GREEN to EARTH = 820 ohms + 10% (CDI charging coil)
GREEN to WHITE = 700 ohms + 10%
RED to EARTH = 140 ohms + 10% (Ignition pick up coil)
RED to WHITE = 100 ohms + 10%
YELLOW to EARTH = 0.7 ohm + 10%

Leonelli system is prone to failure, I always replace with the Ducati system that has proven reliability. The Aprilia Rs50 and some GPR's come stock with the Ducati system so they should be pretty easy to find.

I will check to see if I have a leonelli laying around since I always swap mine out.

so been a little while i picked up a cr80 engine to swap in but as usual crank bearing was destroyed so i am scrapping that idea...
since its way to expensive for me to buy a new stator off ebay like ($160+) would rewinding the stator make it function properly again?

Default finally got!

Just an update:
Got her running all nice and good
I removed the flywheel and took a look at the stator. the white wire had gotten really hot and vaporized its connection(was quite evident as it was all charred and not connected anymore, definitely from hooking up the leonelli cdi) after i soldered it back on and epoxied it it runs great with the ducat cdi and is pretty fast too!
