At Treats for four and a half bucks:

The stock chain is a 420 so unless you specifically source 415 sprockets (which you can do) a 415 chain wont work. The Derbi uses 132 links with a 420 chain--I don't know for the RS.

Treats also has the Sava tires I wrote up about not all that long ago...(they also carry the Sava MC18, which would be a bit quicker tire in that they have a skinnier profile--but they don't have the front one in stock at the moment).

Front Sava MC50

Rear--Sava MC50

I have to run, but I think you might even be able to find an oil pump up on Treats too. Check it out.

Pirate More info on the Sava MC50

These may actually be slightly too large for the older RS50, but for the newer Derbi RS50 and the newer GPR these are the right size. When I put the tires that came on my GPR on the Phenix RS the front tire rubbed the fender and we had to insert spacers to lift the fender a bit.

Stock tire sizes are 90/80-17 and 110/80-17. That's skinny. Not a lot of options. Kinda doubt that Sava 130 rear would clear. You could always try, though

I picked up two sets of the stock Pirellis at Bike Bandit a couple years ago on clearance. They don't seem to have any more at this point, however.

Pirate Feel the Rubber

The big issue with the stock tires is at best they can be considered okay--which is a nice way to say that they suck. With the Phenix RS I installed the tires that came on my GPR, which are the same sizes as these Sava's. The front tire rubbed and we needed to raise the fender, the rear tire was fine--but then that bike didn't have a rear hugger either.

I plan on trying the 50's on my rs50 after the 125 front end conversion. I would order the 18's for the stock wheels due to correct sizing, can't be worse than the stock tires. Another option would be running the sava slicks that treats might be carrying soon. They are labeled as super soft which sounds like a lot of fun!

Bat 1 The Sava MC18

I was just updating the tire thread with the newer entries that they have at Treats--these include the MC18 front and rear tires. Sometime ago I sent Benji at Treats the info on the various tires for our bikes and he's now stocking them (that's how the tire thread got put together). I've recently been posting to him about the Sava slicks (which is what AJ just alluded to above), which I'll be making a new post about soon. For now here are the MC18's, which are the proper sizes for the pre-2006 RS50, and the GPR's for 2003-2004.
