Default Bats Aprilia Rs "Yuki"

The newest addition to the Bat cave is "Yuki"

She has been with the Bats before, previously owned by Dankerson and myself, but has been sitting for a few years and will need s good going through.

Started going through Yuki to assess and caress.

Air filter fell to pieces when I tried to take it out. Pretty common problem on our little two stroke bikes.


We keep Uni filter foam in stock for this as well as K&N filter oil




With the airbox out and the filter replaced it was time to clean this gunk!


Fuel line was also hard as a rock so fresh piece of motion pro 6mm will get installed.

A few more shots from the Yuki inspection

The over decade long Bats standard for reliable street performance build! TP75, 21mm DO, stock airbox, Vforce reeds.





Looks like I had upgraded this bike to a Metrakit CDI some years ago!


Closer inspection revealed that this one has a performance crank installed as well!


Looks like Yuki will be getting one of those sweet Apollo radiators which is quickly become a standard for our builds!

Since Yuki has been away for quite a few years and we don't have records of what was done to the bike, we decided to swap in the motor we just rebuilt for Marco. Yup Marco is getting it's motor swapped out for a 3rd time! This decision was made easier by the fact that dankerson will be rebuilding the motor in Marco anyway with the new TP86 stroker setup.

Getting ready to take out the motor and noticed that the front motor mount must have cracked in the past and has been repaired. That will get cleaned up and a coat of BBQ black to keep the rust away!


Ive done this dozens of times so only took about 20 minutes to get everything disconnected and the motor out!



This radiator and hose setup needed some help.






New Apollo radiator next to ol' leaky


Decided to weigh them to to check and what do you know, the Apollo not only cools better and looks better, its also a weight saver!




Motor installed and radiator setup coming together!


After getting the motor completely installed and everything connected, I did a leak down test just to make sure everything is ready to run!

With the fresh built motor installed it was on to the next piece of the puzzle. During the inspection I noticed that the shift lever was bent and not up to standard.


We keep these types of bits and bobs in stock at Bats SF so this was an easy fix.


swapped over the rubber piece and added some fresh grease. Just like new!

swapped out a tired old choke cable rubber boot.



Next up, resolve these two issues.


After a trip to the store for distilled water and the gas station for a gallon of gas.

With most of the systems connected it was time to get the pipe installed back on the bike.


Before installing it though I decided to do a clean up and couple coats of our favorite BBQ black.







And........on the bike it went

Posting the Marco motor build to this thread for reference since this is the motor that was installed in Yuki.

The factory Aprilia AM6 case splitter being implemented.


Side by side we split both "Marco" and "Ocho Cinco" Motors for complete rebuilds.





This was Ari's first "solo" Case split and complete rebuild. Here he just removed the old main bearings and is heating the case prior to dropping in the brand new "frozen" SKF Bearings.

Metrakit PR Crank for Marco motor


New Gaskets, Seals, Clutch, Bearings, ETC




Ari Applying our favorite Hondabond prior to joining the cases back together


And...........24 hours later.............Both done!

While I waited for the BBQ black paint to dry, I started the Ergal bolt swap for the bodywork bolts. Decided to weigh the Ergal bolts VS the stock bolts.





These are pretty much standard for all our builds these days. Important to add the washer, spacer, and anti seize.
